Listen To Blogs ends up at 4:th place in 24hbc competition

Thank you so much for all your votes! We just found out that we ended up at 4:th place of 52 start-ups that were built at 24 Hour Business Camp, a position we are more than happy with.

A big congratulations to the winners YouTv, you kick ass! And so do you ticketz and voicly.

Check the entire list here.

We are back!

We had some unfortunate downtime for the audio today. SoundCloud was moving their infrastructure and therefore all of our audio was down for approx. 12 hours. The good thing is that the streams are now blazing fast and the upload should be too. We are looking forward to hearing your blogs.

And if you haven't voted yet, do so here, this is your last chance.

The beginning

We created this service in 24 hours, and we got pretty far. However, we still have a long way to go. That's why I want to tell you a little about our plans for the future of listentoblogs.com. The feedback so far has been really good and we had a lot of fun developing the service and therefore we have decided to keep on building Listen To Blogs and make it the best resource for podcasted blogs on the web. We know that there is a lot of bugs at the moment but we promise to squash them out as quick as our fingers can write the code.

If you have any thoughts, ideas or feedback on the site please send us an email at all@...

We plan to release a more stable version in a week and then start implementing the most requested features. For now we would also like to recommend the podcaster Pauspling and her recordings of Carolina Gynning's blog at stureplan.se, it's fantastic. Listen here!

Go record,
David, Henrik & Eric

The End

It was so hectic the last 12 hours so we totally forgot to blog. But, we finished the site, and it is actually working. Read a summary of the site over at live.24hourbusinesscamp.com, check a video presentation at CitizenMediaWatch or Swedish channel 4's live coverage.

A big thanks to Ted, Mindpark and all the other people that made this event the best ever.

And please vote for us as your favorite startup here!

Eric Wahlforss joins the team as UI expert

The secret team memberWe arrived a few hours ago, just had dinner and some relaxing time in the warm baths. Now It's time to present the third and last member of the Listen To Blogs team. Eric Wahlforss! Eric is one of the best interaction designers I know and will help us with making the UI so crisp so everyone can use it. His specialties is jQuery, HTML/CSS. Commence code...

The team is gathered

The half secret team is now gathered in Stockholm and we are slowly getting ready to get on the boat to Yasuragi. Chargers, snacks, 3G modems and a huge portion of enthusiasm is all packed for code and fun.

Follow the backchannels here and here and don't forget the live blog.

Tre sponsors the listentoblogs.com team

The Swedish mobile operator Tre just confirmed that they are sponsoring our team with unlimited Turbo 3G during the 24 hour business camp. Bringing our own internet connection might be essential for us if Yasuragi doesn't hold for the pressure. And my experience from other conferences is not very good. A big thanks to Tre & Erik Hörnfeldt.

Countdown

We are currently counting the days until we leave shore and head to Hasseludden and 24 hour businesscamp. If you want time to move faster, check the channel on jaiku or the backchannel on onelinr. We will soon publish more on what listentoblogs.com actually is and what we want to create with the service. For now, read this excerpt from my private blog:
"We will try to build a service that currently goes under the name Listen To Blogs. Listen To Blogs is a place where text gets “talked” into podcasts. It will basically work as place where you can create podcast versions of your favorite blogs and magazines as well as subscribe to other “talkers” and their favorites. The service is very dependent on users and their collective or collaborative effort in translating the actual texts but after looking at sites like undertexter.se I think it might work even though the threshold is a bit high."
Looking forward to two days of code and fun!
